A little about the event.

How it all began
The Boundary Waters Blues Festival (BWBF) came from the passion of Chicago-born, blues fanatic, Michael Jankovec. Mikey (as he is known here in Ely) is also host of the zany morning show on the new Ely radio station, www.BoundaryWatersRadio.com.

Location...location...location...
Aaawwweeee. What an amazing location to have a blues festival. The BWBF is held on the shores of beautiful Fall Lake, entry point to the world famous Boundary Waters Canoe Area. One million people each year make this wilderness area their vacation destination.

What else does make this festival special?
High-quality, national acts of course. The fabulous setting is, however, a definite bonus but it's the music that keeps folks coming back. Don't miss this year's event. Our 2006 line up will be full of many surprises. Performers that you won't see at any of the other festivals in the area.

From the "Welcome to Ely" sign proceed through town (169/Sheridan Ave)
2.4 mi. Left turn onto Hwy 88
1.0 mi.    Right turn onto Rt. 781 (Samz Place sign)
1.0 mi.     Pass Samz bar on left
1.7 mi.    Boundary Waters Blues Festival Ground (Longbranch) on left

As you enter town on Highway 1
From the intersection of Highway 1 and 169 (Sheridan) (169/Sheridan Ave)
Right Turn onto 169
0.4 mi.     Left turn onto Hwy 88
1.0 mi.   Right turn onto Rt. 781 (Samz Place sign)
1.0 mi.     Pass Samz Place bar on left
1.7 mi.     Boundary Waters Blues Festival Ground (Longbranch) on left
There will be signs once you leave the town of Ely on event days.

On the MapQuest map look for "Longbranch Drive" located on Fall lake on the norht side of the town of Winton. The Longbranch office address is at Samz' Place. At this point you should be able to follow the signs.

Merchandise
Merchandise will be available for sale on the web site in July, at our office, Blueberry Arts Festival and at the Boundary Waters Blues Festival.

Food & Beverage Considerations

We would never be able to do this event without the support of the Longbranch and our many vendors. We want to keep this event friendly and casual. Please respect our vendors by keeping your personal use food and beverages in the camping area only. Merchandise will be available for sale on the web site in July, at our office, Blueberry Arts Festival and at the Boundary Waters Blues Festival. Please choose to purchase from these vendors whenever possible.

Price includes tax. All sales final. No exchange or refund. Artists, events and attractions are subject to change. Show goes on rain or shine.

SPACE IS LIMITED.

Please use common sence when deciding whether or not to bring your pets. Dogs will not be allowed in the performance area so make sure you have a comfortable place to keep your dog while you are enjoying the music.
